It felt like the ending was a little rushed, but all in all, it is a really good game!

no it's not. I'm about to start releasing content again very soon. the new content will be "very good." Unfortunately, this game was beyond mediocre, I was a complete and utter amateur when I made this.

I think you can follow me on itch to get notified when I post new things. I will hopefully be putting up a new game and a new comic in December. And more stuff will follow soon after

So much noble politics, so many social maneuvers... A system built for an extremely steep hierarchy.. It really is like the kinetic VN style, presenting as little choice as possible: Play, or Leave. Click On, or Off.

if you enjoyed the politics, you'll probably like G7K, I released it in March but haven't posted it here yet as it's been on-hold since release (link below), I'm announcing its future soon (after the next game release I'm making), but it's worth playing cause it already has a lot of lore (that will be very relevant to the whole chronicles) and a decent amount of lewd content.

https://www.patreon.com/posts/greiya-seven-ch0-79855432?utm_medium=clipboard_cop... (public post)

I have multiple things coming out soon and they'll have much much much better graphics. Also, the previously bonus scenes of this game (which currently aren't available anywhere) will be free here soon

I've been playing for a while now... I just wish the protagonist was male. It would be a lot more fun to watch this stuff happen to a male instead of a female.

Also, why all the fantasy elements? You couldn't set this in a context that conforms with the biological laws of the real world? There's nothing wrong with the way you've done it, it's just a drag on the story to have to explain all this fantasy-based biology...

hi, this is part of a chronicles, all the games and comics I make take place in the same world. I prefer a fantasy setting.

I don't make male-sub, the male character that appeared in this game (i forgot his name) is the most submissive male character we see in sexual context in the entire series/chronicles. if anything, some works will have maledom in addition to lezdom

Thank you for replying to my comment. I've finished the story now, and have a few more insights...

It did get better as it went along. And though I still would much rather have seen that torture and abuse happen to a male than to a female, I do kind of understand now why, plot-wise, the protagonist had to be female, what with the marriage layer and everything. But I still have a couple major problems. In no particular order...

Too kinetic. If there's no choices, there's no game. I liked the story, but with no choices, it's not playing a game, it's just looking at a picture book. Even if two options of a choice circle around and lead back to the same path, that still would have been better than no choices at all.

And it ended too abruptly! I was looking forward to seeing Marie seduce Edmond and torture Cindy some more in the context of their engagement and marriage, but no such luck. It just ends. The series finale of The Sopranos gave better closure than this!

Anyway, you got a lot of good stuff here, but a whole lot of room for improvement too. I wish you good luck with what you create  in the future. I know you have it in you.

G7K IS AWESOME!!!

At first I thought the "harem mc" would be another empty shell, but he has an AMAZING personality as does everyone else. The dialogue and lore were black holes - I just couldn't stop reading, it was all amazing!

There was absolutely nothing wrong with the perspective, and the amount of h stuff was fine too. You did kinetic storytelling perfectly, even innovatively with the official visits feature.

It's extremely difficult for me to get into first person male mc games, for obvious reasons. Third person ones aren't as bad, but still are weird for h. G7K didn't have that issue - it was like reading a novel; a really, really good one.

I think maybe you're just being too self-critical; this is completely normal for creators. But if the game was bad, I'd say so. G7K is an absolute gem so far. I wouldn't mind a Game of Thrones book series length of just what kind of content the game already has.

Adult games don't even have to have sexual content at all, there are some adult games specifically designed around "no sexual content". So it's fine if your game is 90% sfw, it's still ecchi and the amount of nsfw doesn't break the flow of the game which is what you should be aiming for anyway.

Please give it another chance. It doesn't even need a rework... Please just continue it. It deserves completion. And you're doing a much better job than you're giving yourself credit for.

I agree.Would prefer if  G7K and alice-sama was/will be as hardcore as stepmother's maid tho

in June, I'll be releasing 3 full comics. 2 of which are more hardcore than SM's maid. 1 about the same. They'll all be available for sale on multiple platforms (likely including itch.io)

Alice-sama is generally less hardcore

(1 edit) (+1)

I actually disagree, for the main reason that trying to include a fetish as much as possible (and in this case hardcore is a fetish) distracts from story-based content, and G7K is entirely story-based. Maid and Alice don't have that issue, as they are fetish-based.

Now, there's nothing wrong with lashes being in G7K. But trying to justify a story reason for something like Maid's bathroom scene in G7K would be a challenge.

Just gonna print this and hang it on my wall ...

Seriously though, I wanna thank you for your feedback. People don't realize this, but creators carry comments with them for a long time, both good comments and bad ones. Though usually, it becomes easier to remember the bad comments. And most people don't leave comments or react to content, and most people who do leave comments leave very annoying comments. But positive feedback gives me the confidence to continue creating, and this is a comment I won't forget.

Now, I don't wanna make any promises about G7K. I don't know if it'll continue or be rebooted in the future. But, I will say that one major factor I had to consider is whether it'll sell or not. It took 4 months of work to produce the first public release (granted, one month was spent on the combat system, which would've been in the next update, and some time was spent on character designs). G7K + Greiya: Seven Emperors (the direct sequel), which together would have made the main story, would easily have run for 10+ years, the time and energy spent on developing them simply would not have been feasible if they don't sell enough to make a living.

What I can promise is that the Greiya chronicles will continue. And the quality of my works will continue to improve; writing, graphics, and all other elements.

(+1)

If I can be honest, the #1 factor in how much a work sells is publicity. The #2 factor is the amount of content. And #3 is quality. All 3 are important, however:

- No one wants to pay for only a few hours of content.

- No one will buy sonething they don't know exists.

- Incomplete and buggy games deter people.

- Very few people want to pay per update.

- Money IS positive feedback.

So if you're relying on patreon for funds, make sure the game is publicized outside of patreon, make sure each update is mostly free of bugs, and make sure content releases have a good amount of content while you give tiny extra pieces to patrons.

You have all of these down except for G7K itself having an itch page. G7K takes at least a day to read, so content volume is already solved and it's not even 10% done yet. That means once it's finished "full game only" buyers will 100% buy the game, especially if that version is also put on steam.

That said, although money IS positive feedback, you'll get far more comments on itch than patreon. So just make sure public demo versions are updated on itch if you want a lot of verbal feedback.

And a few months definitely isn't long enough to tell whether a game is going to sell or not. Especially with h games, they're a niche, and niches sell well but take a while to get noticed first. Once your games are noticed by more users, you'll make bank.

That said, your current plan to make a short game like Alice, if it has enough content to last longer than a few hours, is definitely the right option right now financially. It will get you quick bank while also bringing more attention to you and your games.

(1 edit)

I'd have liked to see a bit more of the last part, feels much too cliffhanger-y.

But overall it was pretty great, and I'm hyped for G7K!

Out of curiosity, will G7K be another normal VN like this, or will it have some strategy elements?

G7K already had a first release: https://www.patreon.com/posts/greiya-seven-ch0-79855432?utm_medium=clipboard_cop...

But very likely won't continue, see this post: https://www.patreon.com/posts/direction-of-79856228?utm_medium=clipboard_copy&ut...

it was planned to have strategy combat elements. Those elements may be moved to a future game, as I had already designed the combat system for G7K and it was good.

New game is coming soon.  see this post: https://thehistorian.itch.io/stepmothers-maid/devlog/515257/new-game-soo

There's nothing wrong with releasing a sfw game to compliment your other games, and some people like myself prefer third person (but NOT multi-character) games. Maybe G7K just needs a general redesign and to be released later on.

As for leaving freemium, please allow players to buy the full game on itch (not per update) not just steam. The main reason I don't buy games on itch is because of per update pricing or steam version having more content, and I don't like running NSFW games through steam - I prefer standalone downloads for that.

And just FYI, I personally want to see more of this family in your future games. I'll definitely be giving G7K so far a try and let you know my thoughts on it too.

(+1)

games will be sold full on itch.io, not per update. Early access means you buy the full game, including future updates, just at a lower price because the game is still being made and hadn't been released in full.

Prices will always be the same for itch.io and steam (with very little variation cause Steam prices are set regionally, itch globally). ie, full-release prices will be same on itch and steam. And for future games, if steam gets early access, it'll be same price as itch.io

though, I should mention, itch.io has cracked down on adult creators earlier this year and just saw from other devs they did it again today. itch will probably do so again in the future. It's unlikely I'll be using itch permanently, but I'll continue using it long as I can.

Will the first version of  alice already be released on steam?I can only pay for steam games

Alice-sama will be available to buy on steam when the game is completed. The free demo will be available earlier

doesn't work on windows..

def works on windows.

It's possible it doesn't work on windows 32-bit, as renpy (the game engine) has removed support for 32 bit windows and linux

well idk what to tell ya, my pc is 64 bit and it can't do jack with this file.

I honestly don't know how to help. Nobody else has had an issue running the windows version.

Only thing I can think of is maybe some antivirus is blocking the .exe file from executing? But irdk, I myself have tested on multiple devices before publishing, and no one else has mentioned any issues on windows
